Terms defined. The world of 3D printing has a number of specialized terms…hopefully by defining these terms you will have a better understanding of the courses offered:

• 3D Printing:  The physical creation process where a model from the computer is “printed” in 3 dimensions.  The official term is “additive manufacturing”.
• 3D Print:  This is the physical model that is created on the 3D printer.
• 3D Model: This is the virtual model created on the computer with 3D modeling software 
• 3D Modeling Software (commonly know at CAD – Computer Aided Design): This is the world that engineers live in.  In the past these programs have been expensive and very hard to operate.  That is changing.  We will introduce you to free and easy-to-use programs
